At CREMER North America, internships are designed to be more than résumé builders. They’re real-world learning experiences created to prepare students for long-term career success. Through hands-on projects, cross-functional collaboration, meaningful mentorship, and opportunities to make a real impact, interns gain the confidence, skills, and professional experience needed to thrive beyond the classroom.

Over the past year, our marketing and communications intern, Alice, experienced exactly that.

As Alice prepares for her next chapter after graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Economics and a minor in International Business, we sat down with her to reflect on her internship journey and what it means to gain real-world experience at CREMER North America.

A First Look Inside Corporate Life

Originally from São Paulo, Alice joined CREMER eager to learn, contribute, and better understand how business operates beyond the classroom.

Her first impression says it all.

From day one, Alice was immersed in the business, meeting team members across departments and learning how operations, sales, human resources, and marketing all work together to drive success.

Real Projects with Real Impact

At CREMER North America, interns are given meaningful work that contributes to the organization, not just side projects.

Throughout her internship, Alice worked on a variety of initiatives that supported both internal culture and external brand visibility, including:

  • Internal communications campaigns
  • Sales and HR communication materials
  • Website blog content
  • Social media and LinkedIn content
  • Employer branding initiatives
  • Digital platform management, including SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, and website content tools

One of Alice’s proudest accomplishments was researching, writing, photographing, and launching a company history blog focused on South Terminal- the oldest facility on CREMER North America’s campus.

By trusting interns with meaningful responsibilities, CREMER helps students develop both technical capabilities and confidence in their abilities.

Building Skills That Last Beyond Graduation

Like many students entering their first corporate experience, Alice came in ready to learn—but also ready to grow.

Over the course of the year, she developed skills that will serve her well throughout her career, including:

  • Professional communication
  • Project ownership
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Adaptability
  • Digital marketing and communications tools

She also gained hands-on experience with platforms such as Microsoft Forms, Power BI, SharePoint, PowerPoint, WP Engine, and Google Ads. As her confidence grew, so did her ability to communicate, collaborate, and take ownership of projects across the organization.

A Culture That Supports Growth

One of the things Alice remembers most about her time at CREMER is the people.

At CREMER, mentorship and support are an essential part of the internship experience. Interns are encouraged to ask questions, take initiative, and learn through experience.

That sense of ownership helps interns build not only technical skills, but the confidence to step into their careers ready for real-world challenges.

Preparing for What’s Next

As Alice begins the next chapter of her professional journey, she leaves CREMER North America with more than internship experience. She leaves with the confidence, technical knowledge, and professional foundation needed to thrive in the real world.

Over the past year, she has strengthened her communication skills, taken ownership of meaningful projects, collaborated across departments, and learned how to adapt in a fast-paced business environment.

Perhaps her biggest takeaway is simple.

It is advice that reflects not only Alice’s personal growth, but also the kind of real-world experience CREMER North America is committed to providing every intern who joins our team.
